True Happiness Comes from Within
It appears that many unhappy people believe that outside forces control their level of happiness and self-esteem, as well as how they view themselves and rate their successes. Many people determine their happiness on feedback from the outside world and not from within, causing them to suffer greatly based on the judgments of others. An individual may hear, “You did not complete the task properly” from a boss at work and feel bad, guilty, disappointed, hurt, etc. These feelings, which began from feedback from the outside world, can unfortunately become transferred into powerful negative messages, such as “I can’t do anything right” or “Nothing I do is good enough.” This is why we have to gain control of our own happiness and learn not to let negative feedback become themes for the way we view ourselves and our abilities.
