Breakups can be excruciatingly painful as the sense of loss can feel difficult to move through. It is only natural that you will need time to grieve the end of your relationship and you will experience a variety of emotions as you go through this process.
I’ve noticed that some of my clients equate the universal emotions associated with grief and loss to the idea that they want/need their ex back, however, this is certainly not cause and effect. It is important to separate grief and loneliness from the need to get your ex back, unless you truly feel in your heart that you have learned from the breakup, have some new insight to bring into the relationship and being together is healthy for you both.
